Kill Fleas for Good

If you’ve ever dealt a bad case of fleas in your home, you know it can be one of the worst nightmares imaginable. Don’t worry, because after a lot of research, I’ve come up with a guide to how to get rid of fleas that’s very effective. You have to keep in mind, however, that you need to keep to this plan, work on it every day, and don’t let up.

The first thing to do is treat your pet for fleas. Most vets will prescribe Frontline to treat your pet for fleas. Frontline is available for dogs and cats, and comes in small, single-dose vials. Spread the hair near the shoulders and apply to the skin. Your pet will be protected for a month by using Frontline. A simple medicated flea collar can also be helpful, although it’s best not to rely on that alone.

Step number two is to get rid of the fleas in your home. As much as you can, wash everything with hot water and laundry detergent. Vacuuming your carpets is the next step. Continue to vacuum regularly as much as you can. Vacuuming is one of the best, not to mention almost free and non-toxic, methods for getting rid of fleas.

Step three is to repeat this process. If your pet stops scratching, don’t stop treating them. Don’t stop vacuuming and otherwise treating your home. A flea bomb can also be used to treat problem areas, especially where you pet sleeps. The most important thing is to keep at it. You might think you’re rid of the fleas, only to find that you’ve been re-infested because you didn’t stick with it.

Really bad flea infestations can be a nightmare. Keep at it, be diligent, and don’t give up. Best of luck to you, and go kill those fleas!
